Description
Our client is a well established global manufacturer of specialist process equipment. Their products are used in a variety of industries including Automotive, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical and Consumer. A position has arisen for an experienced Project Manager reporting directly to the Group Engineering Director. Your primary role will be to project manage the design, sourcing and internal manufacture of their production or product testing machinery. In addition to this you will also project manage the design, sourcing and internal manufacture of their electro-mechanical proprietary product range.
Person Specification
To succeed in this role you must be an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with both internal departments and external suppliers and clients. You should be able to multi-task and prioritise workloads. You should also be able to work well within a team environment and use you own initiative to solve project related problems.
Qualifications & Experience
• All applicants should have a minimum of an HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• The ideal candidate will have started their career as an electrical/electronic engineer.
• You should have a minimum of 5 years working as a Project Manager. Ideally for a Process, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering company.
• You should be able to give detailed examples where you have managed projects from start to finish, highlighting challenges faced and initiatives developed to bring these projects in on time and to budget.
• Experience of chairing cross-discipline meetings to communicate project targets, progress results and quality techniques is required.
• Experience managing cost implications of design/project decisions is essential.
• You should be able to employ design for manufacture/assembly techniques to ensure ease of production.
• Experience of drafting product and performance specifications is essential.
• You should be able to understand and apply legislative and regulatory approvals as well as write clear and accurate technical reports.
