Precision Machine Tool Design Engineer - Leicestershire, East Midlands SolidPeople - The 3D CAD Recruitment Specialist.
Description
Our client is recognised as a market leader in the development and manufacture of advanced special purpose machine tool systems for the Aerospace industry. With high profile customers such as Rolls Royce and Siemens they have continued to grow and expand the business and are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. Working from their Head Offices you will join a team of highly skilled engineers charged with developing new and existing products. Using Autodesk Inventor as your primary design tool all applicants should be experienced in the design and development of high precision machine tools.
Person Specification
Someone with a can do attitude and a flare for solving engineering problems would be an ideal candidate for this role. You should be able to integrate within multi disciplinary teams as well as work well under minimal supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent degree)
Ideally you will have a minimum of 3 years precision machine tool design experience.
Those who have worked within the Aerospace industry would be at an advantage.
A minimum of 3 years using Autodesk Inventor to model 3D parts, assemblies and 2D drawings. Those with skills in SolidWorks, Pro-Engineer, CATIA or SolidEdge will also be considered.
Applicants with FEA exposure would be at a significant advantage, but not essential.
Those with practical workshop experience including CAM exposure would be at an advantage, but again this is not essential.
All applicants should have a sound understanding of design for manufacture. Those with experienced at seeing design projects from Concept to Production would be ideal.
You should have strong communication skills as the role will require you to liaise with customers, suppliers and internal personnel at all levels.
